Prolonged Drying Time or Failure to Dry of Two-Component Sprayed Markings

The main causes of long-drying or unresponsive coatings for two-component spray markings include:

Reason A: The temperature is too low or the humidity is too high

Solution: The construction temperature must be higher than 5°C and the relative humidity must be lower than 85%


Reason B: Forgot the hardener

Solution: Remember to reinforce the curing agent in the B material and stir thoroughly before construction


Reason C: The curing agent is not agitated evenly

Solution: The curing agent is not stirred evenly, resulting in the inability of A and B materials to react sufficiently, and the materials need to be fully stirred for 3-5 minutes before construction


Reason D: The curing dose is too small for the reticle to adequately react to curing

Solution: Add curing agent in strict accordance with the manufacturer's requirements


Reason E: There is a deviation in the adjustment of the gun, and the spray width of the A and B guns is not fully aligned, resulting in a single component on the edge and not curing

Solution: Adjust the gun accurately before construction to ensure that the spray width of A and B guns completely coincide, and cross-mix at 1 cm above the ground

  

Reason F: The valves of pumps A and B are not opened at the same time

Solution: During construction, the valves of pumps A and B must be opened at the same time to ensure that pumps A and B suction materials synchronously to avoid forming a single component


Reason G: Blocking guns, full or half blocking, resulting in a single component

Solution: Refer to the solution to blocking and robbing


Reason H: Use cleaning agent as a thinner

Solution: Cleaning agents can only be used to wash equipment, and thinners can only be used to thin paints, and the two cannot be used interchangeably


Reason I: The cleaning liquid in the pipe was not drained before construction, and the paint was mixed with the cleaning agent

Solution: Before construction, the cleaning liquid in the pipe must be completely and thoroughly drained to avoid the coating mixed with cleaning liquid during construction


Reason J: The hydraulic pump seal is worn and fails, the working pressure of the two pumps is out of sync, the bias material, and the appearance of single component

Solution: Replace the hydraulic pump repair kit


Reason K: Insufficient hydraulic oil or impurities, insufficient power, unstable hydraulic pump operation (no suction or intermittent)

Solution: Change the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic pump


Reason L: Poor quality of curing agent and excessive moisture content

Solution: Replace the curing agent

 

Reason M: The cable spray gun is loose, and the A and B guns are not fired synchronously, resulting in a single component at the point where the gun is fired and the gun is closed

Solution: Replace the cable with a new one, or upgrade to a pneumatic spray gun


Cause N: The bottom oil is too thick and not dry, resulting in a single component

Solution: Wait for the primer to dry thoroughly before applying


Reason O: The new asphalt pavement is not dry, there is solvent residue, reacts with the paint, and does not dry

Solution: New asphalt needs to be dried and volatilized for 15 days, and primer oil is added before construction, more than 1.5 kg


Reason P: The equipment pressure is unstable during construction

Solution: Check if the engine is working properly and if the belt is loose


Reason Q: The viscosity of materials A and B is inconsistent, resulting in offset materials, and materials A and B cannot be mixed in equal amounts

Solution: When partializing partial material, the viscosity of the paint can be adjusted by adding thinner and replacing the maintenance kit, and it is best to install a hydraulic distributor


Reason R: The core screw of the internal mixing gun is worn, blocked or faulty, and the A and B materials cannot be fully mixed, and the other part is not dry

Solution; Replace the internal mix cartridge or switch to an external mix gun


Reason S: The internal mixing gun mixing chamber is not cleaned in time or thoroughly, there is paint agglomeration, single-component or partial dryness, and slow reaction

Solution: Every time the equipment is stopped, the mixing room should be cleaned in time as soon as possible, and the inner mixing core should be disassembled and cleaned and checked every time it is stopped
